Shirley Ann Kesley, 77, went home to Jesus and received complete healing on Monday April 14, 2025. She was in the presence of her beloved dog Clyde and her 2 loving daughters when she peacefully transitioned into her glorified body.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and loved going to her Ladies Bible Study and working in the library when she was able.
She retired from Peyton's after many years as the most elegant forklift driver ever. She talked often of the many friends she had from Peyton's especially Diane Sartin whom she considered family with fond memories. Her greatest joy was to bless others in any way she could. She loved to give of herself to others and try to show the love of Jesus through her actions.
She will be reunited in heaven with the love of her life, best friend and husband of 47 years Wayne Kesley; parents Frank and Tootsie Newsom sisters Rosetta Newsom, Darlene Ridge and Frankie Newsom; brother EJ Newsom; grandson Casey Gunnoe-Wooten; her brothers-in-love Russell Kesley, Kenneth Kesley and Roy Kesley; her sister-in-love Charlotte Kesley; and sister-in Christ Sandra Daily.
She is survived by her daughters Wendy (Jim) Pugh and Cheria (Ross) Wooten; sisters Sammie Neusom and Judy (Boogie) McGlamery; brothers Eddie (Lee) Newsom and Charles Newsom; sisters-in-love both named Katherine Kesley; grandchildren Josh Pelfrey, Matt Pelfrey, Adam (Paige) Pelfrey, Preston (Brayleigh) Pugh, Rachel Burns, Allix (Jordan) Fulford, Kea Wooten, Sarah Wooten; great grandchildren Kaleb, Brylee, Korey, Zoey and Easton Pelfrey; Kiley and Claudia Burns, Brodey Grant, Zoey Wooten and Garrett Bodine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, April 19, 2025, Companion Funeral Home in the Shelli Cody Sanctuary. Visitation Noon-2:00 with funeral to immediately follow. Shirley will be laid to rest at Lee Cemetery.
