Shirley Jean Key, 80, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Ridgeview Health Care.
Family will receive friends on Thursday January 13, 2022, from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm in the Freeman-Hood Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Patrick Benson will officiate.
She was a retired member of the Walker County Rescue Squad. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern New Beacon Hospice Angel Tree, make checks payable to Melissa Cummins.
Ms. Key was preceded in death by her mother Florence Mick; stepdad Lyle Mick; dad Harvey Hines; sister Janice Wilson; father of her children, Paul Key.
She is survived by her daughters Tammy Duncan (Bull) and Paula Key (Tony Minor); five sisters June Grassmick of Brighton, Colorado, Joyce Brown of Jasper, Connie Wolfe (Dennis) of Golden, Colorado, Patty Ernst of Littleton, Colorado, and Sharon Clements (Geoff) of Englewood, Colorado; two brothers John Hines (Tammy) of Littleton, Colorado and Jim Hines (Cindi) of Littleton, Colorado; seven grandchildren Britney Hutchison (Tyler), Caleb Key (Jennifer), Courtney Busby, Amber Busby (Tylor Hammond), Tyler Burton (Stephanie), Dalton Burton, and Josie Rigsby; and seven great grandchildren with one on the way.
