Ms. Shirley Jo Butcher Ladd, 71, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025. She was born in Surry County, June 13, 1953 to the late Paul Ernest Butcher and Helen Macemore Butcher. Shirley enjoyed cooking, playing cards, bingo and she never met a stranger. She is survived by her children, Jonathan Matthew Poplin, Sr. and Monica Leigh (Charles) Hinshaw, her grandchildren, Brady Anderson, Jonathan Poplin, Jr., Elizabeth (Levi) Byrd, and Jackson Hinshaw, great-grandchildren, Mykel Anderson, Bella Poplin, and Jayden Rutherford, her brother, Paul Daniel (Bonnie) Butcher, aunt, Fairy Zach, and nephews, Toby (Cyndi) Butcher and Travis (Brittney) Butcher. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, Traphill, NC, with Rev. Levi Byrd officiating. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Jonesville is serving the Ladd family.
