Shirley Ann MacLeod, age 84, of East Stroudsburg, PA peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Born on August 8, 1940, in Orchard Park, NY, Shirley was the beloved daughter of Vincent and Delia (Battistelli) Curletta. On May 27, 1961, she married the love of her life, Leland "Lee" Keith MacLeod. Together they shared 61 years of marriage and raised two children.
A devoted wife and loving stay-at-home mother, Shirley also nurtured her creative spirit by owning and operating a ceramics business where she led classes and built friendships within her community. Later in life, she served with dedication as a rural route carrier for the United States Postal Service for nearly 20 years. Faith was central to Shirley's life. She was a committed member of Pocono Mountain Bible Fellowship Church, where she served as a deaconess and contributed to many ministries over the years. Her gentle strength, encouragement, and steadfast faith made her a treasured mentor and friend to many.
Shirley was known for her boundless generosity-especially toward her children and their families. She consistently put the needs of others before her own, always doing whatever she could to ensure her loved ones were cared for and supported. She had a passion for reading and puzzles and found great joy in spending time with her husband, Lee. Together, they cherished winters spent by the ocean in Myrtle Beach, SC, often hosting family and friends and creating lifelong memories.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lee, her parents, and her brother, Vincent Curletta Jr.
She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion through the family she so deeply cherished. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Pamela Herb (James), and her son, William MacLeod. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Daniel MacLeod (Trisha), Joshua MacLeod (Rachel), Bethany Herb, and Johanna Herb, and a joyful great-grandmother to Oliver, Dawson, Sutton, and Talon MacLeod.
She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Violet Pierce; her sisters-in-law, Ann Hill, Marilyn Oakes, and Renee MacLeod; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11 am at Pocono Mountain Bible Fellowship Church, 141 Montanesca Rd, Mt. Pocono, PA 18344, with family visitation from 10:30 am until time of service.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Pocono Mountain Bible Fellowship Church, P.O. Box 300, Mount Pocono, PA 18344.
