Shirley was born on October 25th,1943 in Chester, PA to Helen and Jake Verbella. She grew up in the Reading area and shared many memories with her sister Nora and met her future husband Tyce.
She married Tyce Matlack on October 8th, 1960 and together they shared 65 years of love and companionship. They raised one child, Jeff.
Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her devotion to family, very strong work ethics, and love of animals especially dogs and cats. She worked for numerous employers in manufacturing and retired from Lucent Technologies in Reading, PA after a lengthly career.
Outside of work, she enjoyed camping, going for long walks, landscaping around the house, and cherished time spent with family and her generations of beloved pets.
Shirley will be remembered most for her loyalties, highly driven, and strong commitments with anything she got involved with.
She is survived by her husband Tyce, son Jeffrey Matlack (Kimberly), sister Nora Altemose (Clair), 2 grandchildren Nicole Fehr (Michael), Andrew Matlack, 2 step-grandchildren Daniel Warnander (Alexis) and Kathleen Zastko (Andrew), 7 great grandchildren, nephew, Rodney Altemose (Steven), and niece, Robin Guggenberger (Daniel).
