SHIRLEY McCARTNEY
Shirley McCartney, 74, of Chambersburg passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024 at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born March 31, 1950 in Warren, OH, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Viola (Holmes) Swope. She was the widow of David B. McCartney who died Sept 4, 2020.
Shirley had worked as a Nurse’s Aid at the former Penn Knoll and several other facilities. She was a life member of the Friendship Hose Co. #1, Chambersburg. She loved playing Bingo, baking and attending Eric Piper Karaoke shows.
She was preceded in death by siblings Sylvia Wheeler, Eugene Swope, James Swope, Ronald Swope, Debbie Scott, Kathy Medina, Harry Dick, Randy Lee Swope and two grandchildren, Brett Lee Miller and Ashley Schooley.
Surviving are her children: Tonya Schooley (Gary) of Spring Run, Theresa Smith (Mike), Angela Morris (Grover, Jr.) and Clarence Miller, Jr. all of Chambersburg, six Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Darlene Schooley of Orbisonia, Patricia Van Orman, Robbie Lee Swope, John Dick, David Dick and Frank Dick, all of Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, Nov 7, 2024 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with Pastor Andy Flicks officiating. Burial will be in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 A.M. until time of service.
