Shirley J. "Jacque" Meadows (nee Doman), 87, of Elyria; passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Jacque was born on September 8, 1935, to loving parents George and Gertrude (nee Filby) Doman in Washington, PA.
Jacque was a faithful member of the New Life Baptist Church in Elyria and later attended Sugar Ridge Baptist Church in North Ridgeville. She shared her love of Jesus by teaching Sunday School to 5th and 6th grade children for 40 years.
Jacque worked at the first Drug Mart Store in Lorain County for 39 years of service, retiring in 2010.
Listening to Southern Gospel music brought Jacque much joy, as well as birdwatching and everything to do with flowers and nature. Jacque's care for her family was important to her, always making sure her family was well fed.
Beloved wife for 4 years to Jerry L. Hickman; cherished mother of Sandra Moore of Elyria and Cheryl Hayton (Steve Davey) of San Antonio, TX; grandmother of Amanda Starr of Elyria, great grandmother of Erik and Kylie; sister of Beverly "Sue" Scott of PA, Marlene Blair of NM, and Sharon (Gene) Drummond of Elyria; aunt of many nieces and nephews; and many cousins
Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Hobart R. Meadows and siblings Audrey Hillard, Robert Dwight Doman, Lawrence Duane Doman, John William Doman, Bruce Wethreald Doman, Charles Ronald Doman, Lotus Rolene Plants, Walter L. Doman and infant baby sister.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 5-8pm at the Busch Funeral Home 114 Second Ave., Elyria, OH. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH.
Reverend Tom Spalding will be officiating.
