Shirley Mulholland Obituary

Shirley was a farmer. She was a faithful and longtime member of the Tilden Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and belonged to the Ollie Dunn Circle. She was a member of the Eastern Star Amaryllis Chapter 750. Shirley loved being on the family farm and especially enjoyed mowing grass, working in her kitchen and baking pies. She loved spending time with friends and playing pinochle. Her greatest joy was spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents – William and Norina, nee Reuss, Hermanns. Her step-mother Norine, nee Werner, Hermanns. Her loving husband Raymond Mulholland whom she married on April 7, 1956 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Biddleborn and who passed away on September 12, 2012. Brothers and Sisters-in-law – Dorothy and William McKinley, Joan and Claude Little and Helen Mulholland.
She is survived by her son – Dwayne and Lana Mulholland. Her granddaughters – Dana and Wesley Fritsche and Bethany and Kenny Borrenpohl. Her great-grandchildren – Rhett Fritsche, Gage Fritsche, Daphne Borrenpohl, Poppy Borrenpohl and Gus Borrenpohl. One brother – Larry and Shirley Hermanns. Brothers and sister-in-law – Robert Mulholland and Leonard and Mary Mulholland. Shirley is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the Tilden Presbyterian Church or to the Eastern Star.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Tilden Presbyterian Church in Tilden, IL on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 9:00am to 11:00am.
Funeral: Services will be held at the Tilden Presbyterian Church in Tilden, IL on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 11:00am with Rev. Dennis Hamilton officiating.
Interment: Burial will be held in Tilden Cemetery in Tilden, IL.
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.

I grew up going to the country from Belleville to visit, with my dad, Stan Gaa, to my Aunt Freida and Uncle Albert's home. We always stopped to see Ray, Shirley and Dwayne while we were there. I have such wonderful memories of Shirley while I was growing up. When I got married to Jerry Cooper, I brought him out to the country. Shirley took him all around the farm and shared everything with him. He was so impressed with Shirley. She was such a lovely lady and I have such wonderful memories of her throughout my life! She will be truly missed!
