Marilynn D. Triefenbach, nee O'Donnell, born in Pittsfield, MA on July 3, 1939, passed away on October 4, 2025, at the Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL.

Marilynn left her hometown to work at the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C. and then she met her future husband, Stanley, who was honorably serving in the 902nd Army Intelligence Corps. When his service was completed, they moved to Stan's hometown. She worked 27 years for Marissa District #40 schools. After Stan's death she moved to Freeburg.

Besides her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Arleen Carpenter of Cary, N.C.

She leaves behind her daughter Janice (Marc) Maurer of New Athens and her son Kevin (Jennifer) Triefenbach of Freeburg. Grandsons Robert (Danielle) Smith, Christopher (Veronica) Smith, Spencer Triefenbach and Deric Maurer and his girlfriend Margo. Great granddaughters Madilyn Smith, Megan Ernst and Chesney Harvel. She also leaves behind her sisters, Lois Woitkowski of South Carolina, Lynn Koscher of Tennessee, her brother William O'Donnell of Marissa and brothers-in-law Frederick Triefenbach and Robert Carpenter.

Memorials made be made to donor's choice.

Also, please do a kind deed and help someone. The world will be a better place because of it.

In keeping with Marilynn's wishes, cremation will take place with no formal services.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.
