Shirley Jean Nave died on Friday August 22, 2025, from complications of cancer, she was 81 years old. She was born on Monday, October 4th,1943 in Eugene, Oregon to Theodore and Beatrice Gullickson. She graduated from North Eugene High School in 1961. She married Gary Hamper in 1966, divorced in 1976. They had two sons, Mark Hamper of Lakewood, Washington and Greg Hamper of Kelso, Washington. She married James "Allen" Nave in 1978, and was married over 35 years until his death on April 5th, 2014. She worked for Sacred Heart General Hospital in Medical Records for 43 years.

She is survived by her two sons Mark Hamper, Greg Hamper and fiancée Joyce Carscadden. Three grandchildren Cramer Hamper and wife Breanna of Renton, Washington, Zoey Hamper, and Zac Hamper of Kelso, Washington, and two great grandsons Carson and Cayden Hamper. She is also survived by her Brother Bob Gullickson, wife Betty and their three sons Scott, Kevin and Todd. Brother and sister-in-laws Floyd and Tonya Nave and their children Jill, Jan, Joyce, Patrick and their families, Brother and sister-in-laws Gary and Jody Nave and their children Angela and Jim and their families.

Shirley enjoyed bible studying, reading, her friends, playing pinochle, bunco and other card games with everyone. She was a relentless thrift shopper, and volunteered at the Hearts for Hospice Store in Springfield, Oregon. She was always well known and appreciated for her infamous chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies. She enjoyed baking and dispersing them to everyone that was a part of her life. She was always very well organized. Shirley always embodied what every human being should strive to be like. She was always kind, loving, generous, trustworthy and a god loving woman. Her faith was always very important to her and it showed in her life everyday in how she lived it.

Her funeral service and celebration of life will be held Tuesday September 9th at Riviera Baptist Church 3071 River Road, Eugene, Oregon at 11:00 a.m. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. Internment at West Lawn Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m.
