She graduated from Columbia City High School Class of 1952. On July 29, 1953, she married Frank A. Neidigh at Columbia City Methodist Church. Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of Columbia City Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and Susanna Circle and was a Tri Kappa.
Shirley volunteered at the Whitley County Cancer Society and the Whitley County Hospital. She was an avid bridge player, bowler and golfed in the women's league at Crooked Lake for many years. IU Basketball was something she enjoyed watching on TV and attending the games.
Shirley is survived by her children, Michael Neidigh, Charles Neidigh, Brian Neidigh, Deidre (Dave) Huculak; grandchildren, Michelle (Christian) Maslowski, Erica (Jason) Gruber, Taylor (Joelle) Bockelman; Jacob (Tori) Neidigh, and Logan (Emma Sowders) Bockelman; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Cleary; and sister-in-law, Sue (Chick) Harker. Along with her parents Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Neidigh; grandsons, M.J. Miller and Andrew Miller; brother, Bill (Martha) Orr; and brother-in-law, Jim Cleary.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Friday, August 8, 2025, with visitation from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City, Indiana. Burial will take place at Oak Grove (Compton) Cemetery.
