Shirley Jean Reno Osborn (Gay), 85, passed on September 14, 2025 to be with her heavenly father. She was an energetic person with a love of life. Shirley was born on December 16, 1939, in Monroe, Louisiana. As the youngest of seven, Shirley grew up in a large, loving family, raised by a single mother. Throughout her life she remained devoted to her family including her husband, three children, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

After raising her three children, Shirley continued her education, receiving a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Louisiana State University. She spent her career working for the Monroe City School System in the Pupil Appraisal office. This was a job she was made for! She loved assisting families to gain the best possible education and future for their children. Her team worked hard to assist children while enjoying a strong collegial environment. Shirley often coordinated social event with her co-workers. She was proud to be regarded by her friends from work as "Good Time Shirley".

After retirement, Shirley and her husband, Earl Osborn, were able to indulge their love of travel. They were able to explore new places around the world and developed strong, lifelong friendships with lovely people in some of their favorite places. Shirley often said that growing up in Monroe, Louisiana, she never would have believed that she could have visited all of the amazing places she had experienced. One of her favorite travel destinations was Disney World which she felt was a second home.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Rose Reno; brothers, William Horace Reno (Dub), Freddie Reno, Blanchard Orron Reno, Millard Filmore Reno (Buddy), and Billy Grandville Reno; as well as her sister Marjorie Davis. She is survived by her loving family including her husband, Earl Osborn; children, Jacquelyn Pitre, John Pitts, and Judith Mann; son-in-law. Jim Mann; grandchildren, Jennifer Queen, Jeffrey Sickler, and Jacob Mann; grandson-in-law, Adam Queen; and great grandchildren, Jackson Queen, Juliana Queen, Joseph Queen, Joshua Sickler, and Jordan Sickler, and Mickey Mouse.
