Shirley Jean Simkins Pera of Flagstaff, Ariz. passed Monday September 8, 2025 at the Peaks, A Senior Living Community after a long fight with CHF and Alzheimer's Disease.
Born in Jacksonville, Ill., August 11, 1938 to Freda DeFreites and Paul Watkins.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Shirl Simkins; and son in law, Robert Lindinger; her son, Larry Simkins Jr; and daughter in law, Lisa Simkins; grandaughter, Brooke Valocchi-Duarte and spouse Carlos Duarte; her granddaughter, Sara Simkins; and her two great-grandchildren, Jackson Duarte and Alexandra Duarte.
The funeral services will be Monday September 22, 10:30 a.m. at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church, the rosary will be said at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral service A reception will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe basement.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter | Alzheimer's Association.
