Shirley Sallee Obituary
She was born in Hardin Springs to Carl and Agnes Powell Blan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, the Rev. Phillip Sallee; her parents; four brothers Sherman, Gilbert, Robert and Marvin Blan; and a sister, Helen Barnes.
Shirley is survived by four sons, Ronnie (JoAnn) Sallee of Stanford, Earl (Karla) Sallee of Upton, Dwight (Shannon) Sallee of Bonnieville and Carlus Sallee of Cecilia; a daughter, Elizabeth (Jerry) Bird of Hodgenville; a sister, Margaret Tucker of Louisville; as well as 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and one due in January.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Hodgenville with Brother Jerry Bird and Brother Travis Vaughn officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown.
Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and continues from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
The family requests monetary donations in lieu of flowers.
