Shirley Ann (Weber) Schmidt

May 13, 1935 – September 14, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Ann (Weber) Schmidt, age 90, on September 14th at Fort Hudson Health System, Fort Edward, NY. Shirley was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.

Born in Mays Landing, NJ, on May 13, 1935, Shirley spent her early years raising her family and creating a welcoming home, later volunteering countless hours to her community and church.

In 1988, Shirley began working at R & H Frames, quickly becoming a talented art framer. She brought that same artistic eye into her home, lovingly known as Shirley's Museum. A devoted Pinterest fan, she never missed a chance to craft holiday décor or create festive party favors.

Family and friends were always Shirley's greatest joy. She delighted in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished her lunch dates and long phone calls with close friends. She shared her love through her cooking and baking.

Throughout her life, Shirley embraced many hobbies-ceramics, painting, and basket weaving. She also tended a beautiful garden, crocheted blankets for each new baby or wedding, and nurtured a lifelong love of reading. With her husband, Robert, she traveled in Europe, and, later, with their children, explored state and national parks across the USA in the family camper.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Blanche (Ingersoll) Weber; her brother, Howard Weber; her beloved husband, Robert Andrew Schmidt; and her son, Robert Andrew Schmidt Jr. She is survived by her children Susan (Rick) Warring, Elizabeth (Michael) Mulshine, and John (Beth) Schmidt; son-in-law Gary (Tracey) Blanton; her grandchildren Amanda (Brad) Blanton, Jessica (Jim) Podres, Shannon (Andrew) Catoggio, Kira (Jordan) Breslauer, Michael Mulshine, Liam Mulshine, Ryan Schmidt, and Evan Schmidt; her great-grandchildren James Podres, Zoe Podres, Andrew Catoggio, and Shane Catoggio; and her dear friends Barbara Boyer, Kathleen Maynard, and many more.

A service to honor Shirley will be held from 11AM-1PM on Sunday, September 21st at Lowenstein-Saraceno Funeral Home, 1114 White Horse Pike, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215, followed by a local reception. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rotary Club of West Jersey Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 75, Willingboro, NJ 08046, a non-profit very dear to Shirley and Bob.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Fort Hudson Health System in Fort Edward, NY, especially the kind and generous staff on D Wing and the many talented physical therapists, for their exceptional care, compassion, and support.
