Of Birmingham, AL, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2023, surrounded by family by her side. Beloved companion of Dr. Raymond C. Seitz of Edgewood, to whom she had been married. She was preceded in death by her second husband, William Bailey. Loving mother of Tammy Norton (Richard) of Venetia, PA, and Dr. David Seitz (Colleen) of Smithfield, PA. Grandmother of Dakota and Sydney Norton of Venetia, Tyler Seitz (Haley) of Cheat Lake, WV, and Sarah Lee Seitz of Smithfield. Sister-in-law of Patricia Whitfield of Hoover, AL. Also survived by many additional brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Shirley was born in 1938, the first child of Frank Emmett and Bertha (Hughes) Whitfield. She was raised in Birmingham, AL, with her two brothers, Frank E. "Buddy" Whitfield, Jr. and Raymond William Whitfield, and graduated from Ensley High School then moved to Pittsburgh. Shirley had a flair for fashion and owned a retail dress shop in Bethel Park for 20 years. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and brought many people to Him. She loved the outdoors, gardening, and traveling with her family. She loved her family and will be dearly missed. Private entombment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Wolfe Memorial, LLC.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39

I only knew her for a few years but she became a real friend. I loved her so much and I will miss her sweet smile and her contagious laugh!
