Shirley Cauble Sharber, 81, passed away July 19, 2025. She was born on September 27, 1943, to Charles and Elizabeth Cauble. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved grandchildren, Macy and Charlie Sharber. Shirley is survived by her devoted husband, Alfred "Al" Sharber; daughter, Cindy Marker (Ron); son, Steve Sharber (Janie); grandchildren, Robert Marker (Ashley) and Molly Sharber; great-granddaughter, Hayden Marker; brother, Ted Cauble (Linda); and sister, Cathy Sheehan. After graduating from DuPont Manual High School in 1961, Shirley married the love of her life, Al, on September 29, 1961. She cherished spending time with her family, whether it was celebrating birthdays, playing games, enjoying cookouts, or simply being together. She also loved the beach, especially visits to the family's condo in Florida, where she spent much of her time after retiring from AT&T following 37 years of service. Shirley enjoyed watching University of Kentucky and University of Louisville sports, as well as Cincinnati Reds baseball. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Wendy Ottman, Vickie Lane, and the Chozen Angels for the compassionate and devoted care they provided to Shirley. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or the 9th & O Baptist Church Building Fund.

I have fond memories of cousin Shirley at our family get togethers growing up. She always had a joke to tell, had a contagious laugh and a beautiful smile. Laura Zook
