Shirley Jean Short, 82, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon surrounded by her closest family. She was born in Bath County on November 19, 1942 to the late Harvey Stiddom and Louella Proffit Stiddom.
She was the widow of the late William Short and spent most of her life being a hardworking farmer's wife. She loved working in her little garden and keeping her beautiful flowers. In her younger years she loved to quilt but as she grew older she began to enjoy the quiet and peacefulness so that she could sit on her porch and watch the birds. She loved her little birds.
She surrounded herself with pictures of her family whom she was very proud of and adored. Among them are her daughter Libby (Kenny) Gose of Mount Sterling; 3 grandchildren Elizabeth (Kevin) Gose of Mount Sterling, William Nicholas Ray (Katelin) Evans of Jeffersonville and Gage Thomas Gose of Mount Sterling and 3 great-grandchildren Savannah Grace Gose, Andrea Shirlean Gose, and Myla Marie Gose. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Shirley's dialysis nurses at Fresenius Medical Care, for the care they provided for 7 years.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by one son William David Short; one brother Bobby Joe Stiddom and one sister Elsie Faye Wilson.
Her family has chosen to have a Family Graveside Service at an undisclosed time. Please keep her precious family in your prayers.
