Shirley Parker Simpson, 88 went home to be with her Lord on January 29, 2025 with her family by her side. A native of Jackson County she was born June 30, 1936 to the late David and Frances Parker.
Shirley began her career in her family’s retail clothing business in 1967. In 1982 she started Shirley’s Boutique in the town of Dillsboro North Carolina. Over the next 35 years she built a huge following of customers many of which became lifelong friends. She never met a stranger and remembered everyone she met.
She is survived by her 3 children, Tommy Simpson and wife Susan, Beverly Stephens and husband Danny, and Mark Simpson, 4 grandsons, 8 great grandchildren, one brother Billy Parker and wife Ruby, one sister-in-law Sara Parker, special family friends Terry Taylor and Sue Persons and several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband Bill Simpson, her parents, and brother Bobby Parker.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday February 4th, 2025, at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Services one hour prior to the service
