Shirley Ann Teems

Shirley Teems 87, of Blue Earth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 30, 2025 at St Luke's Care Center in Blue Earth, MN. Visitation will be from 4-6PM Sunday January 4, 2026 at Patton Funeral Home and continue one hour before the funeral. Funeral service will be Monday January 5, 11AM at Patton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery - Blue Earth.

Shirley Ann (Cassens) Teems was born on April 25, 1938, to Onnen and Ann (Pudwell) Cassens in McIntosh, South Dakota. She attended school and graduated from high school in Granada, Minnesota.

On January 9, 1958, Shirley was united in marriage to Donald Leroy Teems in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Together they raised two sons, Mike and Mark.

She spent many years employed at J.C. Penney, and later worked at Walmart, the Stag Shop, and Breen’s, where she was known for her reliability and friendly demeanor.

The most important thing in Shirley’s life was spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her son, Mark Teems (Cheryl) of Blue Earth; daughter-in-law, Gina Teems of Brainerd; three grandchildren: Taylor Teems (Cali) of Blue Earth, Trevor Teems (Kelli) of Rochester, and Marisa Geiger (Adam) of Detroit Lakes; five great-granddaughters: Harper and Hadley Teems of Blue Earth, Charli and Dillan Teems of Rochester, and Mari Geiger of Detroit Lakes. She is also survived by her sisters, Arlene Peterson and Connie Weise, along with many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Teems; her son, Mike Teems; and her brother, Larry Cassens.
