Shirley Witkin Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 11, 2025.
Shirley Witkin was born June 10, 1926, and passed away November 9, 2025, at the age of 99 years young. A social butterfly full of energy and charm, she died after living a wonderful life to the fullest. She was known for being witty, inclusive, strong, and for always speaking her mind. Shirley was devoted to her Jewish faith traditions, her community, and above all, her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Witkin; parents, Barney and Rose Rich; brother-in-law, Cy Kaster; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben and Shirley Sigler, Paul and Dorothy Witkin, and Max and Sarah Witkin. Shirley is survived by her sister, Barbara Kaster; and her children, Leslie (Bruce) Rosenberg and Perry (Cindy) Witkin. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Brian (Samantha) Rosenberg, Mark (Ellen Shen) Rosenberg, Ari (Liz Traison) Witkin, and Eli Witkin; and her great-grandchildren, Harlow and Louie Rosenberg, Emmy, Bennett, and Lucy Rosenberg, and Hadar, Raviv, Sivon, and Meital Witkin. She leaves behind a legacy of strength and joy, with the philosophy of a favorite quote from Dr. Seuss: "Don't cry because it's over - smile because it happened."
