Shirley Ann Wright, age 84, of Gasburg, VA, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Pattie Wright; her siblings, John Wright, Jr., William “Buck” Wright, James Wright, Otto “Dude” Wright, John “Pokum” Wright, Ellie “Cookie” Wright, and Betty Sue Dixon.
Shirley was a dedicated employee of Rollic, Inc. for more than 30 years. She was a faithful member of Antioch Christian Church and Ruth Memorial Chapel. She loved the beach and taking family vacations at the Outer Banks. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, cutting grass and taking care of her flower beds. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend whose love was felt by all.
Shirley was described by many as the “toughest” woman they knew.
She is survived by her children, Atlas Wright (Tonya) and Loretta Bottoms (Scotty); grandchildren, Stormey Berryman (Cary), Danielle Townsend (Bailey), Grayson Bottoms, Shawn Evans (Esther), Kaycee Brown (Ronnie); great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Kinleigh, Noah, Kimber, Rhett, Maycie, Raelynn, Naomi, and Ruby Ann, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Ruth Memorial Chapel, 1244 Gasburg Road, Brodnax, VA 23920. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Christian Church, 151 Ebony Road, Littleton, NC 27850 followed by interment at Tabernacle Cemetery in White Plains, VA.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 386, Gasburg, VA 23857.
