Shirley Zigmund Obituary
Shirley Arlene (Griffith) Zigmund, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Whitefish at the Lakes in Crosslake. She was born on September 26, 1934, to Henry Leon and Ina Griffith in Revilla, SD. At a young age they moved to Backus, MN, where she attended school and graduated.
She met and married, Joseph Zigmund, on March 15, 1957.
Shirley worked many years for the family business, Pine River Oil Company, where she did all the bookkeeping. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and loved working for her church and bible study groups. She was, also, a member of the Pine River Auxiliary Unit 613, where she volunteered many hours. She loved keeping in touch and spending time with her family and friends.
She’s preceded in death by her husband, Joe, of 67 years, her parents, sister and brothers.
Shirley is survived by her three children, Jolene (Rick), Julie (Clayt) and David; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Whitefish at the Lakes and the St Croix Hospice for the wonderful care of our loving mom and grandma.
