Shirlie Mae "Shirley May" (Rappleyea) Greer, age 92 of Negaunee, passed away on September 5, 2025 at Bell Hospital in Ishpeming surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in St. Charles Township on May 12, 1933 to Willard and Lena Myrtle (nee Spencer) Rappleyea, and was the youngest of five siblings. Shirlie was an avid reader and crafter. She especially loved beading and enjoyed making necklaces for all of her friends at Eastwood Nursing Home. Shirlie adored all animals and cared for many pets throughout her years.

Surviving are her children, Daniel (Ellen) Greer, Scott (Brittany) Greer, and Cindy (Lee) Woods; her sisters, Mary Ellen McFarlan and Sally Erskine; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and her special life-long friend, Marge Bloom. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wallace Harry Greer, Jr.; her eldest son, John; her parents; and her brothers, Willard and Harold Rappleyea.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Eastwood Nursing Home for their wonderful care for Shirlie. You made her feel at home. She treasured you all.
