Shirlie Ann Rudell

Shirlie Ann Rudell, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, in Niles, Michigan. Born on September 18, 1949, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Shirlie's life was a testament to the joy and warmth she brought to everyone around her.
Shirlie was the cherished daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Bower) Lotsbaich. Her life was a journey of love, shared with her devoted husband, Gerald Lee Rudell, and their beloved children, Joseph (Deanna) Rudell and Tina (Shawn) Schanck and her grandson, Chase Rudell.
Shirlie's siblings, Mark Lotsbaich, Deborah Lotsbaich, and Patricia Hauch, will remember her as a loving sister whose kindness knew no bounds. Her presence in their lives was a source of constant comfort and happiness.
A proud graduate of Buchanan High School, Shirlie carried the values of her education throughout her life. Her love for reading was profound, and she could often be found lost in the pages of a book, exploring new worlds and ideas.
Shirlie's hands were rarely still, as she found great pleasure in sewing and completing puzzles. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in every piece she crafted and every challenge she solved. Shirlie loved going to the movies, a pastime that allowed her to experience the magic of storytelling on the big screen. Friends were the family Shirlie chose, and spending time with them brought her unparalleled happiness.
Christmas was a special time for Shirlie, as she delighted in putting up her Christmas village each year. The meticulous care with which she arranged every piece reflected the love and warmth she shared during the holiday season.
Funeral services to honor Shirlie's life will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Niles at 1:00 p.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
