Shoan “Tailgate” Schuknecht, 54, of Anton passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in Amarillo. He was born June 18, 1970, in Slaton to David and Debbie Schuknecht. Shoan graduated from Monterey High School in 1988 and went on to attend Wayland Baptist College. He married Brandy Brunson on May 6, 2006. Shoan has been a member of the Boozefighters MC, Chapter 17, for the last 9 years. He has currently worked for Pipeview America for the last 4 years and before that worked for Renegade for 9 years. His proudest moments were being a G-Pa to his grandbabies and riding his motorcycle with his brothers. Shoan was known for having a big heart and the ability to love well. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Shoan is survived by his wife, Brandy Schuknecht; children, Richard Abbe (Danielle) of Hawarden, IA, Cheyenne Hunter (Weston) of Coleman, TX, and Sierra Rubio (Carlos) of Fredericksburg, TX; grandchildren, Hadley Mae Abbe, Waylon James Abbe, and Luke Daniel Rubio; father, David Schuknecht (Dayna) of Lubbock; mother, Debbie Schuknecht (Bernal Baca) of Tacoma, WA; brother, Chris Schuknecht (Nicole) of Lubbock. He also leaves behind his mother and father-in-law, Jerry and Sheryl Brunson; sister-in-law, Lisa Tatum (Justin); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins all of Lubbock.
Shoan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Vlasta Makovy; grandmother, Trudy Schuknecht; grandmother-in-law, Glenda Marie Kay; and brother-in-law, Billy Mac Brunson.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2024, at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at The Worship Center, West Campus, 7116 82nd Street with Steve “Lucky B” Noble officiating.
The family requests all guests wear green in his memory.
