Shonika LaChelle Gordon was born in Enfield, NC on March 23, 1978 to Sheila Jean Gordon and Samuel McWilliams. She transitioned peacefully at home on November 5, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She attended schools in North Carolina in her younger years then moved to Jacksonville, Fl where she attended and graduated from Jean Ribault Sr. High School Class of 1996. She went on to have two handsome sons, Freddie Jackson Jr. and Malik Jackson. Shonika was overjoyed when her grandson Kairo was born in August 2024.
Shonika will forever be remembered as a genuinely awesome person that loved to cook, travel and have a great time. She left a lasting impression on everyone who came in contact with her infectious smile and warm personality. She was also known to get you straight, if you stepped out of line.

She leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Sheila Gordon of Jacksonville, FL; father, Samuel McWilliams of Enfield, NC; two sons, Freddie Jackson Jr. and Malik Jackson; grandson, Kairo Jackson; Maternal Grandmother, Lucy Pender; three sisters, Twyla Hendricks of Charles Town, WV, Zequel Hall of Durham, NC and Quetwa "Chatty" Harrison of Battleboro, NC; one brother, Jonathan Brown of Wilmington, NC; five nephews, Destyn Harrison-Phillips, Micaiah Hendricks, J'Qoirj Harrison, Jonathan Brown Jr and Malakai Brown; one niece, Quetwondra Harrison; one great niece, Jah'Zara Lewis; Best Friends Noral (Cee) Daniel and Raphaela Tould; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, family and friends.
