Shripal Gupta

Shripal Gupta, age 86, of Naperville, passed away peacefully at Edward Hospital on March 8, 2024. Born on August 13, 1937, in Gwalior, MP, India, he was a man of intelligence, love, and generosity, whose legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.
Shripal lived a life marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and his community. As a lifetime member of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), he carried his spiritual values into every aspect of his life. His career as a Director for the Department of Agriculture in India allowed him to serve his country and contribute to the welfare of many, showcasing his innate intelligence and leadership.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Uma, who was his partner in every sense of the word. Together, they built a family founded on love and mutual respect. Shripal was the loving father of Rekha Maheshwari, Pankaj (Alka) Gupta, and Pravin (Bhanu) Gupta, who will remember him as a guiding light and a pillar of strength. He was the proud grandfather of Yashvi (Shilpesh), Priyal, Sarika (Mariano), Ashna, Pranav, and Prakhar, and great-grandfather to Sohum and Yanshi, who will carry forward his teachings and warmth.
The son of the late Bhagwan Devi and Nathuram Gupta, Shripal was also a dear brother to the late Kalyandas, Kiran, and Banwarilal. His extended family of nieces and nephews will fondly recall his generous spirit and the wisdom he imparted.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, March 13th, for a 9 AM Pooja to honor Shripal's life and legacy at DuPage Funeral Chapel, 951 W. Washington St., West Chicago, Illinois 60185.
Shripal Gupta's life was one of purpose and joy. His intelligence was not just in his career achievements but also in the way he dealt with life's challenges, always finding a way to impart positivity and hope. His loving nature was evident in his unwavering support and care for his family, friends, and anyone in need. His generosity extended beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of many through his work and community involvement.
As we say goodbye to dear Shripal-ji, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life that has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire us all.
