Shryll Ann Denease Milling Brown, 72, was born September 13, 1953, in Fairfield County and departed this life on November 18, 2025.

Shryll Ann Denease Milling Brown was born on September 13, 1953, in Columbia, SC, to Mr. Hannie D. Milling Sr. and the late Mrs. Johnnie Mae Murphy Milling. She began her spiritual life at Wayman AME Church and later worshiped faithfully at Old Hope Station and Hassion Hill Baptist Church. Her relationship with God shaped her character, her compassion, and the way she treated every person she encountered.

She was educated in Fairfield County Public Schools and continued her studies at Columbia College. She began her professional journey as a secretary in Fairfield County Schools. She later spent meaningful time at Russell McCutchen Funeral Home, where she supported families with tenderness and grace during bereavement.

In 1992, she began what would become twenty four years of dedicated service as the Fairfield County Clerk to Council. She earned graduation from the South Carolina Clerks to County Council
Certification Program and served as President of the South Carolina Clerks to County Council Association, along with other leadership roles.

Her colleagues across the state and at home knew her for her professionalism, her kindness, and her signature warm smile. Those close to her also knew another truth. Shryll carried herself with unmatched style. Her father often joked that she stayed dressed "seven days for Sunday," and she lived that expression with pride and elegance.

Above all, she touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a devoted wife, mother,
grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She loved her family, her church, and her community with a steady, quiet strength. Her legacy is one of service, faith, grace, and the beauty she brought into every room.

Left to cherish her memory are her father, Hannie D. Milling Sr., and her loving and devoted husband of thirty nine years, David L. Brown. She is also survived by her children, Summer C. Etheredge, Robert D. Brown, and Aundria D. Brown, and by her grandchildren, Gabrielle Etheredge, Jaiden Etheredge, Jairius Etheredge, Khabir McLawhorn, Judah McLawhorn, Nylah Brown, and Asar McLawhorn. Her siblings, Phyllis Milling Young of Jenkinsville, SC, Rev. Hannie D. Milling Jr. of Jenkinsville, SC, and Michael Milling of Winnsboro, SC, will also continue her legacy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. She was predeceased by her mother, Johnnie Mae Milling, and her younger sister, Brenda Joyce Milling Lewis.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Sunday November 23, 2025 @ Hassion Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
