On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, our beloved husband, son, brother, father, grandpa, uncle and dear friend, Sid Daniel Throckmorton, returned home to his Heavenly Father.
Sid was born March 6, 1983 in Payson, Utah to Max and Gaylene Throckmorton. From the beginning, he brought light, love and laughter into their home. As the proud older brother to his little sister, Tara, Sid took his role seriously and cared deeply for his family.
Survivors include his best friend, Ashli, children, Taja (Kyle) Barrett, Sydni and Adika, a granddaughter, Amara Barrett, his parents, grandmother, Alene Zeeman, mother-in-law, BJ Sorenson, sister, Tara (Chad) Sistrunk, sister and brother-in-law, Ben & Kami Adock, and a niece and nephew, Charley and Gabe Adcock.
Growing up on the family farm, Sid developed a profound love for the land and animals. He embraced every part of farm life early mornings, long days, and the satisfaction of hard work. Whether it was feeding livestock, mending fences, or cutting hay, Sid gave his all. His strong work ethic became one of his defining traits, one he carried with him throughout his life.
Sid formed a close and meaningful bond with both of his parents. He admired his father's strength and wisdom, and he deeply respected and learned on the steady love and support of his mother. Their example helped shape Sid into the man he became-hardworking, loyal, and kind.
Some of Sid's fondest memories were spent outdoors boating at Lake Powell, hunting, fishing, and helping his Grandpa Arden collect pheasant eggs. These experiences sparked a lifelong passion for wildlife and conservation. He nurtured that love through participation in FFA (Future Farmers of America), where he studied wildlife management, gathered and hatched pheasant eggs, and went on to win state and national competitions earning a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Costa Rica.
Sid lived his life with purpose, humility and heart. He leaves behind a legacy of grit, gratitude, and love for his family, the land, and the simple joys of a life well lived.
In 2006, an unexpected woman and her beautiful small daughter came along. Ashli loved, admired, respected and supported Sid in all of his endeavors for 19 years. Literally, through sickness and health, better or worse, til death, they have parted. Upon meeting, Taja, Sid, and Ashli instantly fell in love with each other. Sid became a father at a young age and was the one that Taja always needed. He filled that role perfectly. As Taja grew, he was always in awe and proud of her natural talents. He told people so often that it was crazy she was accomplishing what she did.
One year after their wedding, Sydni Easton came along. She was given his family name and is his namesake. Just like him, she has the kindest heart and demeanor plus physical appearance. She has recently thanked him for his face and joked that she will take good care of it. Five years later, Adika Ashli came along and her and Sid were inseparable, developing a unique bond. She followed in his every footstep, doing everything he did, and he hoped to continue farming with her someday. As Adika got older, she really started to give him a run for his money... if you know, you know.
He was a kind and gentle father, making sure his girls learned the right morals and values. He gave each daughter specific opportunities to develop a strong work ethic that will stay with them forever. They will miss him so much. in 2013, Sid was in a tragic 4-wheeler accident, which he survived, by God's grace. Following that accident, he faced over 33 surgeries but fought to recover from each and every one, and somehow did. Sid was a work horse, he never stopped going, but he had to keep going because it was in his blood and who he was.
The surgeries and the way of life he chose changed the condition his body was in and slowly caused his body to grow tired. The Lord knew it was time to bring him home so he could start another kind of work meant for him on the other side. Ashli is the love of his life and wants to confidently assure all of you that Sid is out of pain now. He is happy to be home with his Savoir. He finally has both of his eyes, he's much taller now, and covered in golden armor. He is absolutely beautiful and is at peace
