Brown Family Mortuary - SantaquinBradley Jean Hammond, 58, passed away on August 18, 2025, in Delta Junction, Alaska, where he had made his home for many years.
Brad was born in Provo, Utah on December 16, 1966, to Don Lee Hammond and Kathleen Patrick Bearnson Hammond. He grew up in Springville/Mapleton and graduated from Springville High School. In school he excelled in sports, academics, music, and especially singing, where he had the opportunity to travel the country. He graduated high school with high honors, completing seminary and earning his Eagle Scout award. His love for learning and exploration continued throughout his life, and he was known as an avid reader with a wide range of interests.
Brad’s career was as varied as his talents. Over the years, he owned and operated multiple businesses including restaurants in Utah and Alaska. A highlight during this time was his work as a sous chef for Sundance Ski Resort. Later in his career he shifted into construction management as a safety training/consultant, an MSHA/OSHA safety professional/trainer, and a construction quality control professional. His versatility, work ethic, and creativity left a mark in every field he entered during his professional career.
Brad is survived by his loving mother, Kathleen Hammond. He is also survived by his siblings: Kyle Bearnson, Stephen Hammond, Kimberly Averett, Mary Rino, and Jeana Bird. He also leaves behind his cherished daughter, Brooke Lynn Hammond Hansen (Jeff Hansen); and his two treasured grandsons, Barrett and Lucas Hansen. The dearest thing in this world to him was his daughter and her family. He loved being a father and grandpa and always did little things to show how much he cared about them. He loved spending time with them, whether they were playing, talking, reading or just sitting together. He made them feel loved and special. Even now, the love he gave them remains in their hearts, reminding them of how much he truly cared for them. He was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Lee Hammond.
Brad’s life was one of adventure, talent, and love for those around him. Brad will also be remembered for his quick wit and the ability to cook up a masterpiece from whatever was in the fridge. He was a great handy man and willing to help anyone at any time. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at the Springville Evergreen cemetery on September 6, 2025 at 11:30 am.
In addition, a celebration of life will be held in Delta Junction Alaska at a future date to be determined.
