Sidney "Gene" Hannah

Sidney "Gene" Hannah, 73, of Gastonia passed away on May 11, 2022 at his residence. He was born on April 24, 1949 to Ethel Lingerfeldt Hannah and the late Troy Hannah. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Della Mae Freeman and Tammy Sue MaGaha and his brother, Tommy Hannah. Gene enjoyed hanging out with his buddies, Bobby Ross and Charlie Bledsoe, at the Knowledge Center. They were all better known as the "Three Amigos." He also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 33 years, Anna Davis Hannah; children, Jerry Hannah, Kim Hannah, Lisa Hewitt, Amanda Hewitt, Timothy Hewitt, Adam Hannah, Eric Hewitt, and Matthew Hannah; sister, Diane; brothers, Larry, Stanley, Brian, and Dennis; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral Services, Mt. Holly with Rev. Andy Nicholson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
