Sidney Huling Obituary
August 5, 1945 - December 23, 2023
Mr. Sidney Hughes Huling, 78, of Port Wentworth, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Sidney was born in Folkston, Georgia to the late Sidney Wilson and Rosa King Huling. He grew up in the Savannah area, where he spent much of his childhood exploring the wildlife refuge with his brother Joe.
After graduating Robert W. Groves High School, he pursued a career at Candler hospital, and retired after 45 years.
On June 13, 1981, he married June Carol Bledsoe. They were married for nearly 39 years, until her death in 2020.
His hobbies included studying American history and watching classic television shows. He also enjoyed going to the Senior Center and Port Wentworth United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughter, Sydney Tipton (Andrew); granddaughters, Grace and Aurelia Tipton; and brother, Joseph Huling.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 30, 2023, from Noon to 2pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 3pm in the mausoleum at Hillcrest Abbey West on Dean Forest Road with Pastor Gary Boyles officiating.
