Sidney Joiner Jr., 87 year's old, entered heavens gates on October 16, 2014. He is survived by his children Delores Donald and husband Cecil, Carl Joiner and wife Sandy, Steve Joiner and wife Deborah and one brother Dale Joiner, three sisters Doris Ward, Bessie Jo Hodge, Mildred Knight, seven grandchildren, eleven great- grandchildren and one great- great grandson. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Margie, his parents, three brothers and three sisters. Sidney was born on April 29, 1927 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to Sidney and Liddy Joiner. He lived in Pasadena, Texas for many years and was a member of Second Baptist Church of Pasadena. Sidney honorably serviced his country in the United States Navy and went on to own several gas stations and was a general contractor. Sidney will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 1PM to 3PM at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10AM in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Well I love this old man!! Some of my favorite memories ever are of sitting in the garage and listening to his stories. Boy did he have some stories to tell!! He was so caring and never judgmental towards me at all. That is something that I will always cherish. I regret that because of my own insecurities, I didn't go by to visit him when I had the chance. My thoughts and prayers are with Carl and Sandy today. I wish I was able to get there today, however I am not able to miss work. But my thoughts and prayers are definitely with everyone in Highlands today. I love you always!!
