Obituary
Sidney Davall Kendrick was born on January 8, 1973, in Gary, Indiana, to Romelda Kendrick and Richard Cork. He spent most of his time under the loving wings of his grandparents, Elise and Henry Kendrick. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1991. He enlisted in the Armed Forces right after graduation, going directly to serve in the U. S. Army during Operation Desert Storm. He earned honors and acclaim and served his country proudly.
Sidney was a very outgoing and an outspoken person. He loved to spend time with family and friends. He was always on the go and trying to be a part of the next big family function or event! He was a people person for sure and he loved everyone! He would give you everything he had to make sure you were comfortable. He was very overprotective of his loved ones especially his brothers. If you met him and y'all clicked you knew you were in! He was your friend for life! He wanted to make sure that everyone was happy around him and he would see you through those tough times.
Sidney had a true passion for DJ-ing. He loved music. You could never debate music with Sidney though! He could take you from the '70's up to the 2000's, and dang near to the 60's. He loved all genres of music. If you needed a lifeline for a song, Sidney was the one to call!
Sidney also had a passion for working on cars. He had every tool you can think of and probably three of four of the same ones for no reason! But he was always prepared. Whatever you needed done, he would come through and he definitely had the tool for it! He knew everything about cars, or at least nobody could tell him differently. If he told you something or gave you advice and you didn't listen or if it turned out in his favor, he would always say, "If you'd just listen sometime." Regardless of any of that, he gave good advice and it was always out of love!
Sidney departed this earthly life July 27, 2023, at the age of 50 years 6 months and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elise C. Kendrick; grandfather, Henry S. Kendrick, and his mother, Romelda Kendrick.
He leaves his memories to be cherished by his father, Richard Cork (Debra); siblings, Jamal Henderson (Shaquana), Damon Shaw, and LaKeisha Cork; his nieces and nephews, Andrianna Henderson, Jaleal Henderson, Andrea, Antanette, Raymond, Hannah Shaw, Katrina Shaw, Keshawn Adams, Rashawna Adams, Cedric Seavers, and Douglas Cork and so many other family and friends that he loved!
