Bishop Linda Ellis, age 75 of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 at her home. She was a member of St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis. She loved her church and serving others. She was a member or had associations with the following groups, Women In Touch Ministries, Black Nurses Association of Indianapolis, Indiana Minority Health Coalition, and National Council of Negro Women
She is the daughter of the late J.B. Ellis and the late Vanda Richardson Ellis.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Ellis, Shirley Rice, Earl Ellis, Joe B. Ellis, Edna Johnson, Mary Ellis and Robert Ellis.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia Jones; her brothers, Willie Ellis, Cecil Ellis, and Henry Ellis; several nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and other extended family.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM ET at St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, January 29, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM ET on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. R.E. Robinson, D. DIV officiating.
Local visitation will be held from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Friday, January, 30, 2026 at Bearwallow Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Bearwallow Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Bearwallow Baptist Church Cemetery.
