Siegfried Loetz Obituary

He was born August 6, 1935, in Sturgis, Michigan, youngest son of the late Hans Carl and Emma (Peters) Loetz.
Sigfried resided most of his life in Sturgis and was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1953.
On May 15, 2021 he married Kristy Middleton at the family home by Kristy's brother Judge Jeffrey Middleton.
All of Sig's working career was in electronics. He began his career with ITT Kellogg in Chicago. He moved on to Aabcor Corporation in Rosemont, Illinois and finally settling at Target Corporation where he retired in 1995 following 25 years of dedicated employment.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis.
Sig was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 -1960 earning the rank of Yeoman 2nd Class Petty Officer.
He was active in Boy Scouting and enjoyed walking, biking, yoga and was an amateur radio operator.
He is survived by his wife: Kristy; stepchildren: Hansel, Erika, Heidi and Tristan and five step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Richard Loetz, Hans Louis Loetz and Donald Loetz.
A graveside service and interments will take place at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. Full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guards.
