Sierra Dawn Felling, 27, of Coralville, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by her family.
Born on January 3, 1998, in Keosauqua, Iowa, Sierra was the daughter of Marcus Harris and Lynettia Overhulser. She was raised in the Keokuk area and later moved to Marengo, eventually making her home in Coralville for the past five years. A 2016 graduate of Iowa Valley High School, Sierra worked in the retail industry and found joy and purpose as a social media influencer, where she shared her creativity and spirit with others.
Sierra was a passionate artist who expressed herself through various forms of visual art. She had recently begun learning to sew, adding another creative outlet to her ever-growing talents. She loved dancing and ice skating and cherished every moment spent with her friends and family. Deeply connected to nature and led by a strong spiritual foundation, Sierra radiated warmth, resilience, and compassion.
She is survived by her mother, Lynettia Overhulser (James) of Wentzville; the father who raised her, Roger Felling (Tricia) of Marengo; and her significant other, Gavyn Schoenberger of Coralville. She is also survived by her sisters: Kassandra (Andy) Saunders; Ariel Montenegro, along with her children, Rosalina and Grayson Horning; and Tasha (Corey) Hokanson; as well as her grandmother, Judy Overhulser.
Sierra was preceded in death by her sister Christina Felling; grandparents Dwight and Anita Felling and John and Teresa Overhulser; and her great-grandparents, Nelda and Wayne Overhulser.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Gavyn for the exceptional care and unwavering love he gave Sierra throughout her cancer journey. Special thanks are also given to the UnityPoint Hospice team, including Michelle, MSN, RN, HN-BC; Kim, RN; Hailey, RN; Michelle, RN; Ashley, PCT; Alex, RN; Tessa, PCT; Rachel, PCT; Lisa, ARNP; Dr. Younger; Liz, housekeeper; and Alma Drake, Spiritual Healer, for their compassion and support.
