Sierra Peterman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mullican-Little Funeral Home, Inc. - Bells on Aug. 31, 2024.
The family of Sierra "Valentine" Peterman is saddened to announce her tragic passing on August 26, 2024 at the age of 30 years.
Sierra was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend to so many. She was born in McKinney, Texas to Jeff and Jana Peterman on August 27, 1993. She had a passion for everything she did and was always ready to try something new. She was an accomplished writer and a lover of all written words; a trait likely passed down from her father. She was also an avid gamer and enjoyed playing many games that included Stardew Valley and Pokémon being some of her favorites.
Sierra grew up in Sherman, Texas and graduated from Sherman High School. She earned an Associate's degree at Grayson County College and her Bachelor's degree at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Jodie (Chance) Snow. Julie (Burgins) Pope and Donald Peterman; great uncle and aunt, Jimmy and Geraldine Chance; her younger brother, Gabriel Chance Peterman.
She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Jana Peterman; sister, Kortnie Peterman; niece, Elizabeth Peterman; nephew, Kailum Grimes; her loving companion, Mandy Adamson, aunt and uncle, Julia and Earl Brotherton, grandmother, Joann Peterman. She also left behind her chosen family, sister, Patricia Kowalsky and husband Michael; niece, Liliana Kowalsky; aunt and uncle, Heidi Beakley and husband James; cousins, Cody, Jadon, and Mylyn.
Sierra was an amazing aunt to her niece, Elizabeth; who was often referred to as her "mini me" because of how similar they were. They truly bonded over their shared love of music, games, and so much more. She was also an eclectic reader, which helped for her bond with her nephew, Kailum. He loved to read books, and then compare notes with her. Her most recent niece, Liliana, was constantly getting new clothes and toys from Sierra, who was always excited to watch her grow and learn. She also loved to share in movie nights with them, watching and getting excited of whatever they wanted to watch.
Sierra was generous to a fault and always tried to go above and beyond for her friends. She would give them any help they needed, at any time. At any point, she would lend a hand to show her help. She has many friends and loved each of them. She knew how to light up the room and make you feel special and loved every time she spoke to you.
She shined so brightly like the stars and the sun. Whenever we look up, day or night, we'll see that light that shines so brightly.
A memorial service will be held at The American Legion in Denison, Texas at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Mullican Little Funeral Home.

James and I send our deepest sympathy. We´ve known Sierra since she and James met at Grayson College, and their group spent many hours at my home, gaming, laughing and just hanging out. Sierra was always so bubbly and living. I know she touched the lives of many and she will be greatly missed.
