In Loving Memory of [Simeon "Jon" Jonathan Cain]
2004-2025
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Simeon "Jon" Jonathan Cain, who left us far too soon at the age of 21 in Kinard, Florida.

Born on April 16, 2004, in Panama City, Florida, Jon brought light and joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. From a young age, he found joy and peace on the water, with a fishing pole in hand and a heart full of love for the simple things in life. Whether it was casting a line at sunrise or sharing a quiet moment with family, Jon always lived with genuine passion and deep affection for those he loved.

Family was everything to him. He was the kind of person who showed up-who hugged tight, laughed hard, and loved without condition. His loyalty and warmth were unmatched, and the memories he leaves behind will be cherished forever.

Jon had recently taken a proud and exciting step in his life, enrolling in the Automotive Collision Program at Haney Technical College. His eyes lit up when he talked about school, and he had big dreams for the future. His determination, talent, and drive were inspiring, and his loved ones celebrated this new chapter with him every step of the way.

Though his time here was far too short, Jon left a lasting mark on every heart he touched. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, his love for the outdoors, his big heart, and his unwavering devotion to those he cared about.

He joins his Poppy, James Allen Cain, and his Mimi, Laurie Ann Mahaffey, in Heaven.

Those who remain to honor his memory include his father, Jeremy Cain, and his wife, Brandy Cain; his mother, Ashley Cain, and her longtime partner, Josh Blair; his siblings, Jeremy Jordan Cain (Melina), Madilyn Atchison, Matthew Cain, and Natalie Cain; his Nan, Gwendolyn Cain; and his Pawpaw and Mimi, Simeon Mahaffey and Melissa Sauls; his Mawmaw, Marie Mahaffey. Also holding a special place in his heart were some of his favorite people: Miranda Cain, who was like a sister to him; his cousin, Jaden Roberts; his best friend, Cyliss Post, and Cyliss's parents, Dawn and Keith Whitfield. He is also deeply missed by numerous family members, friends, and his entire church family.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Jon's life will be held at First Baptist Church of Wewahitchka on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM CT. Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Jon by casting a line into your favorite waters, sharing a story with someone you love, or simply living with the same kindness and courage that he showed every day.
Gone too soon, but forever in our hearts.
We love you always, Jon.
