Sina Lucy McKay, age 91, went to be with her Lord on February 20, 2025. Lucy was born on May 11, 1933, to Dozer and Dorothy (Staggs) Plunkett. She grew up around Florence, Alabama. In 1951 her family moved to Michigan and in 1952 she met William in Keeler, Michigan. They dated for a couple of months before his family went back to Florida. In 1953, he came back to Michigan, found Lucy and asked her to marry him. She gladly accepted, and on September 19, 1953, they were married. To their marriage Lucy brought her son, Lance, and together Bill and Lucy welcomed their son, Blake, into their hearts and home. Later in life, their family grew to include two grandsons, Josh and Benjamin, and then three great-grandchildren, Carly, Cameron, and Noah.
Lucy was a fruit worker when she came to Michigan. After the wedding, she worked at Meijer and Sweetwater Doughnuts, Brody’s Bakery. Later she and her husband began their ministry in the Allegan area since 1991, at Faith Covenant Ministries.
Lucy was a woman of deep faith and love. Her faith and family were the center of her life. Lucy loved to work in her flower garden, she was a great cook, and she loved to shop. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Blake, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her husband, William; her sister Mildred; brothers: CV and Hoyle and her son Lance.
Visit with family and friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Church of God; 5841 East H Ave. Kalamazoo MI 49048. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
