Our beautiful and sassy Suzanne Marie Kohnert, age 70, of Oscoda, MI, formerly of Bay City and Zilwaukee, MI, passed away peacefully at her home in Oscoda, MI on Friday, September 6, 2024. She was born on February 11, 1954 in Saginaw, MI to the late William and Eleanor (Meyer) Premo. Suzanne earned an Associate's Degree in Biology and worked as a field biologist specializing with insects. Her greatest accomplishment, aside from being a mom, was starting her own business in 2002. Suzanne and Robert Gillespie owned and operated Sunrise Pest Control, until her retirement in 2014. She loved it all! Rock collecting, gardening, sewing and crafts, reading, drawing, shopping for antiques and clothes. Suzanne could do it all, spending any time she could with her family and grandbabies. She had a great love of animals, especially to her Jack, Goldie Bae Bae, Puddin, George, and Cami. Suzanne is survived by her loving children, Brandon (Amy) Kohnert of Kawkawlin, MI, Jason (Melissa) Kohnert of Bay City, MI, and Amanda Kohnert of Oscoda, MI; her longtime other half, Robert "Bob" Gillespie of Pinconning, MI and his children, Steven Gillespie and Amy (Stan) Pearson; brother, Charles Premo of Mesa, AZ; sister, AnnMarie Premo of Midland, MI; sister-in-law, Tamara Premo of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, Kathryn (Johnathon Baker) Kohnert, Abilgail Kohnert, and Frederick Kohnert IV; nieces and nephews, Delynn Schmoak, Bill (Vicki) Reinbolt, Rebecca (Jason) Boler, Amy (Phil) Ververis, Mindy (Brad) Swanson, Jeanette (Joe) Wehrwein, Kacia (John) Todd, John (Terra) Premo, and Jacob Premo, and many great-grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Reinbolt; brother, John Premo and infant brothers, John Michael Joseph and Eugene Michael Premo. Per Suzanne's wishes, cremation has taken place. The Kohnert family would like to extend our gratitude to the Care Team Hospice.
