In Loving Memory of Skye Soares September 6, 2014 – July 14, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Skye Soares, age 10, who left this world far too soon. Skye was born on September 6, 2014, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and later moved to Michigan, where she brought light and joy to everyone she encountered.
A student at Washington Park Elementary, Skye truly loved going to school. She was a bright, curious, and joyful soul who embraced learning and made lasting friendships with her classmates and teachers. Her laughter was infectious, her smile unforgettable, and her spirit undeniably radiant.
Skye had a remarkable ability to spread joy. She loved spending time with her older brother, Warren Jr. (affectionately known as Junior), playing games, laughing, and enjoying the special sibling bond they shared. Skye was also especially close to her mother, Salena, with whom she shared countless giggles and selfies — capturing moments of love and happiness that her family will forever cherish.
Skye is survived by her loving parents, Salena Raymond and Warren Soares Sr.; her devoted siblings: Warren Jr. (Junior) Soares, Brittany Tatum, Shalaija Soares, Sana Soares, Keidah Soares, and Wasiym Soares; her maternal grandparents, Jerry Boykin and Lifus Cooley; her paternal grandmother, Joan T. Barnwell; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who loved her deeply.
Skye was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. She filled our days with laughter, wonder, and warmth, and her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Though her time with us was short, Skye’s impact was immeasurable. She will be remembered always as a happy, funny, loving little girl who made the world a brighter place.
Rest in Peace, Princess Skye. Your laughter echoes in our hearts, and your smile shines in our memories forever.
