Skylar Rose Beattie, age 8, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton following an automobile accident.
Sky was born on June 26, 2013 in Two Rivers to Troy and Krystle (Cooley) Beattie. She was in 3rd grade at Valders Elementary School where she was on the Dolphins swim team. Sky was very active with Tae Kwon Do, archery, dance class at Kaleidoscope Dance Studio, and Lego League at Lakeshore FIRST Robotics. Any free time she had, Sky loved making Tik Tok videos with her sister, Alexia, and playing Roblox with her cousin, Lizzy. Sky was a firecracker! She had a uniqueness to her with red hair, blue eyes, and a personality to match. She had a beautiful soul, a beautiful heart, and could melt your heart with her smile. Sky would be instantly attached with those she met and could make a friend wherever she went. You could know her for five minutes and have a friend forever. She was a kind and loving person who cared about everyone around her.
Survivors include Sky's mom, Krystle Cooley and her significant other, John Beyer; dad, Troy Beattie; her sister, best friend, and the one she shared everything with, Alexia; maternal great grandma, Marie "Grams" Kraetsch, paternal great grandparents, Dale and Lynn Schwantes; maternal grandparents, Tim and Brenda Cooley; paternal grandparents, Steve and Nancy Skinkis; aunts and uncles: Shannon (Joe) Resch, Samantha (Levi) Thomas, Jona Faye (Kyle) Brooks, and Steven "Porkchop" Skinkis; a special cousin in Lizzy who were cousins by blood, sisters by heart, and friends by choice; also other cousins, Maddie, Joey, James, Jacob, Chloe, Aubrey, Lily, and Elliott; also other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandfathers, Dale Kraetsch and James "Papa J" Albert; paternal great grandparents, John and Ina Beattie; and a maternal great great grandmother who met Sky at Heaven's Gates, Bette "Nana" Janssen.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Howard officiating. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of Sky's cremated remains to be held at Branch Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Following the funeral service, a dinner for family and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 5:30 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.comHH
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Sky's name.
Sky's family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department, Francis Creek and Kellnersville Fire Departments, the Emergency Department team members of Aurora BayCare Medical Center Green Bay and Aurora Medical Center Grafton, and Superior Ambulance Service for all of their care and efforts.
