Sofiya is survived by her loving son, Boris Lyubkin, her adoring grandchildren, Maria Liubkina and Elizaveta Liubkina, and great-grandchildren, Raphael and Samuel.
She is predeceased by her parents, Malka and Boruch Ninburg and her husband, Boris Astanovsky.
Sofiya was born on November 14, 1929, in the former USSR. A WWII survivor, her early life was shaped by resilience, inner strength and hope - values that guided her throughout her years.
Sofiya made her home first in Rochester, NY, and later in Boston, MA.
Sofiya had always put her family first. She supported us in all our endeavors and loved spending time with us. Sofiya was also an avid traveler, and a social butterfly, who enjoyed the company of her friends.
