Solange Rivière (née Lebrun), also known as Soso, was born in Lebrun in Petit-Goâve, Haiti to the late Eugène and Déléna Lebrun. She was the first born of five children.
In 1969, she was married to Gérard Rivière and became a proud and loving mother of four children. Prior to leaving Haïti, she held various administrative positions before settling in as a travel agent. She was also known in her community for her delicious onion pie.
In 2001, she immigrated to Florida where she welcomed her first grandchild and became known as Mimi. She learned English and a decade later rejoined the workforce as a waitress. She retired after the passing of her husband in 2016.
She was a devout catholic and was known for her love of cooking, puzzles, fashion, and her devotion to her family and others.
She is remembered by her children, Johann Rivière, Patrick, Himmel Rivière, Naomie, Sophia, Priska Rivière, Williamson, Patrick and Jean-Baptiste M. Richter Rivière; her grandchildren, Annick Gilles, Kris-Sébastien Rivière, Carl-Alexandre Jeudy, Dmitri Rivière and Aliyah Rivière; her siblings, Guy Lebrun, Emma Jean, Marie José Ainé, her sister-in-law, Monique; and her many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
