Frank "Solo Cholo" Martinez, 59, of Colorado Springs, passed away on November 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born on May 23, 1966, to Lucy and Claudio Martinez, Frank lived a life full of passion, laughter, and devotion to those he loved.
Frank shared 39 years of love and partnership with his beloved wife, Debbie Martinez, and was a proud father to Talena(Sergio Garcia), Tobias(Katie Martinez), Dom(Devon Huffman), Isaiah(Aimee Huffman), and Angela Martinez(Chris). He was also a cherished grandfather to Tyler, Malakai, Oliver, Andrew, Jackson, Aubriella, Sebastian, Thea, Sammy, Noah, Gabriella, Emma, Millie, Isabella, Lilliana, Ava, and Enzo - each one holding a special place in his heart.
Frank also held deep love and respect for Ryan, father of Lilliana and Ava, who had a very special place in Frank's heart and life. He is also survived by his loyal dog Boomer.
Frank is survived by his siblings Tony, Elias, Felix, Gilbert, Linda, Wanda, Judy, Della, Leonard, Claudio, and Cecila, as well as his special uncle Julian.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lucy and Claudio Martinez, and his brothers Larry and Pat Martinez.
He attended Coronado High School, Frank lived a life marked by dedication, service, and community spirit. He served as a volunteer firefighter for five years in Costilla County, a member of the Boys and Girls Club as a football coach and was honored as Coach of the Year with Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation. Professionally, he was a skilled contractor whose craftsmanship left its mark across the city he loved.
Frank was a respected member of the Mongols MC 1%, a die-hard Denver Broncos fan, and a former football player, proudly playing the center position during his athletic years.
Known for his big heart and even bigger personality, Frank was a social butterfly who could light up any room. He was a leader, mentor, jokester, and friend - someone who could make anyone laugh and feel welcome. To many, he was not only a super grandpa and super dad, but a true community dad who inspired and cared for everyone around him.
Frank's legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Rocky Mountain Calvary in Colorado Springs.
Family and friends are invited to come honor Frank's memory and celebrate the incredible life he lived
