A quiet hero to many, a man with an unbreakable spirit, retired cardiologist Dr. Solomon Fishman passed away on January 5, 2025. He was 77 years young.
Raised in Elmont, Long Island to a family of 3 brothers, one being his twin, and one sister. The special people in his life are the many friends and family whose lives were better just knowing him.
Sol was a passionate, driven man with a fierce determination that combined hard work with an indefatigable drive toward excellence. As a doctor, he touched many lives and his patients loved him as he always made them feel special. He was a top achiever in anything he put his mind to.
Nothing stopped Sol Fishman he was so determined to become a doctor, he went to medical school in Paris. His books and lectures were in French and he didn't speak the language but, he learned quickly and went on to become a successful cardiologist. The synchronicity in Paris is that he met the love of his life, Denise and they have shared an incredible love, friendship and life for 50 years.
It is not how he died, but how he lived, Denise and Sol travelled extensively all over the world. Here is something you may not know about Sol he was a man of many talents and he really enjoyed his retirement he could be seen perfectly trimming his 100+ bushes in the front of his home, renovating a bathroom, painting, repairing cars, playing pool, watching Fox News, his political shows and, he was an avid Trump supporter.
For those of you familiar with "The Dash" the line between the day you were born and the day you die. The dash represents all the time we spent alive on earth and now only those who loved him know what that little line is worth. To live in the hearts left behind is not to die for the void we are feeling is filled with beautiful memories. We are very proud of his dash!
Thank you to all the nurses and doctors who took care of Sol during his illness.
