Sonia Lewis

SONIA (Leader) LEWIS of Norton, formerly of Florida and Swampscott, passed away on Friday, March 21st, 2025, at 92 years of age. Edgar, the love of her life, who passed away only five months earlier, was her husband of 73 years, was a testament to how much she valued and cared for her family. Sonia was a stay at home mom for 18 years helping guide their three children through childhood into adulthood. She later returned to the workforce and spent 20 years as a Women's Health Counselor. Sonia & Edgar retired to Florida where she enjoyed her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She remained active while living in Florida.
Sonia loved to dance and was actively involved in running the Dance Club in their condominium complex. Sonia had an eye for fashion and interior design, lighting up any room she entered. Of utmost importance to Sonia was instilling the value of remaining a close knit family, an endeavor in which she succeeded, which will carry through successive generations. Sonia was the loving mother of Ronde & her husband Dr. Jeffrey Gassman, Jodie Lewis & her partner Jim Mackenzie, and Corey Lewis & his wife Kathleen. She was the cherished grandmother of Craig Gassman & his wife Laine, Jaime Watman & her husband Michael, Chad Lewis, Jillian Mann, Maxwell Lewis and Zachary Lewis. Sonia was the proud great-grandmother of Hadley Gassman, Vera Gassman, Cambri Watman and Brodie Watman. Private funeral services and burial have taken place. After 73 years together, and only five months apart, Sonia and Edgar are once again together.
