Sonja Kaye, daughter to Melvin Elliott and Margaret Hoskins Elliott, began her earthly journey on December 15, 1954, in Clarksville, Tennessee. Sonja’s parents preceded her in death.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. When she relocated to Decatur, Georgia she united with Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.

Sonja received her formal education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System where she attended and graduated from Clarksville High School with the Class of 1972. Furthering her education, she attended Adelphi University, in Garden City, New York and in 1976 graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She enjoyed employment as a nurse with Piedmont Healthcare, Decatur, GA where she promoted excellent healthcare delivery to patients that were in her care and participated in nursing research through the American Nurses Association.

Affectionately called “Babygirl” by loved ones, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Sonja’s earthly journey ended peacefully as she transitioned to be with the Lord.

Those left to celebrate her life and to cherish her memories forever are her sisters: Elizabeth (Harry) Galbreath, Clarksville, TN, Helen Hoskins, Nashville, TN, Susan (Bennie) Robinson and Brigitte Elliott, both of Clarksville; brothers: Wayne (Maria) Elliott, Richard (Margaret) Elliott, both of Clarksville, TN, Clifford Elliott, Nashville, TN and Michael Scales, Evansville, IN; nieces: LaTonya (Willie) Ousley, Brittney Walker, Whitney Elliott, Olivia Scales, Bridgitt Elliott, Angela (Stevenson) Hudson, Taylor (Jalen) Thompson and Stevenson Hudson, Jr., for their dedication in Sonja’s time and need, it was a blessing.
